Welcome to Alexandra Lodge 1511

BROTHERLY LOVE, RELIEF, TRUTH

"The Friendliest lodge" Located in the seaside town of hornsea

One of the oldest social and charitable organisations in the world, Freemasonry's roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles.

About Us

Alexandra Lodge is a Freemasons’ (Masonic) Lodge, under the Constitution of the United Grand Lodge of England, which meets in the Town of Hornsea.

Being formed in 1874, we are a lodge with a long and proud history.

As a current member of the Lodge, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our website.

Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.

There are over 250,000 Freemasons meeting in more than 8,000 Masonic lodges throughout England and Wales.

Our values are based on integrity, kindness, honesty and fairness. Freemasonry offers the opportunity of meeting a wide variety of people from the local community in a very sociable environment.

I hope you will find this website informative whether you are interested in Freemasonry in general, wish to become a member or are looking for information about the Alexandra Lodge in particular.

Guiding principles of Freemasonry

For Freemasons, there are four important values that help define their path through life: Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Charity. In today’s world filled with uncertainty, these principles ring as true now as they have at any point in the organisation’s history.

Charity

Freemasonry is the one of the world’s oldest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.

Alexandra 1511 is very committed to charitable giving both at a local or a national level. Freemasons are taught to practise charity and to care, not only for one another, but also for the community as a whole both by charitable giving and by voluntary efforts and works as individuals. Masonic charity ranges from buying a birthday gift for the widow of a deceased member to supporting disaster relief agencies in their work in times of need. The lodge contributes to both the Masonic Grand Charity giving at a national level.
